Hi all,
I am writing to let you all know why i choose nursing. Let's give this my top ten reasons fro nursing! I am passionate about the field and would love to talk to you about the details of nursing and what all it entails. I love working with patients, to be there helping hand :)
10. It is rewarding- you not only get to help make a difference in a patient's life, you can help their family out as well! You also can help save a person's life! How neat is that!!
9. It puts things in perspective- You can never feel sorry about yourself because there are others who would love to be in your shoes at any given time, but instead are hospital bound :(
8. It's challenging- you will never see the same thing twice. Every experience will be new and different. You will always face different challenges!
7. It's very applicable- Whether working at a school, hospital, or even being a stay at home mom, having nursing skills can help you in tough situations.

6. It has a descent pay- I am not really into the whole money thing, but i would need the money to raise a family and such. Nurses do make a solid amount of money, perfect for raising a family :)
5. It is a reliable job- there will always be a need for nurses! You can count on that, especially with the rise of baby boomers retiring and such!
4. It is so versatile- You can move around your job. You can do peds, NICU, ICU, ER, oncology, hematology, and the list continues. You are able to switch to different areas without having to go back for more school.
3. you get to bond with the patient- this one is the big one. originally i wanted to be a doctor, but working at the hospital has changed that. seeing the nurses making the relationships with the patients, while the doctors fill out the paper work has changed my perspective. I want to be the nurse that throws the parties when my patient is finally in remission for their cancer :) I want to be the nurse who offers a comforting arm around someone when their family member passes away.
2. It is worth every single late night and every single sacrifice- it really is. all my studying isn't for waste!
1. I feel called to serve as a nurse- I feel that God has called me into the medical field to serve him in this way. Everyone has their own calling, and they can all be different. I feel that my gift to give people is the gift of encouragement and of healing.
Being a nurse isn't easy. Is it worth it? I would say 100X yes :)

Blessings and cheers!
